Hello Everyone! Welcome to the first addition of Fox Rocks with Kate and Carly, your weekly intern update. Every Friday we’ll fill you in what it’s like to be an intern at Fox News. We’ll keep you up-to-date on our duties within our department, the important people we meet or greet, and we might even give you a little insight into our life outside of work.

We welcome you to join us at the end of every week. But before we begin here’s a little info about us!

The 411 on Carly and Kate:

Hello! My name is Carly, and I am one of the summer booking interns for Happening Now. I work with a great team of people who are teaching me so many valuable things. Everyone at Fox News is so encouraging, and the “fair and balanced” attitude is not only present in our programming, but also behind the scenes.

I’ve already had so many incredible opportunities in my first two weeks; I can hardly imagine what is to come. I’ve definitely had two highlights so far- hearing the president of Fox News, Roger Ailes, speak to the interns, and getting the opportunity to meet Bill Hemmer, co-host of America’s Newsroom. Both men are incredibly intelligent, and the advice they gave was nothing short of helpful.

The main theme of their advice seems to be to always ask questions and seize every opportunity to excel. So, I pass that wisdom onto you, the viewers. Never let an opportunity pass, because you never know what it will lead to in the future.

Welcome Happening Now fans! I’m Kate from Texas, so I guess a “Hey Y’all” is more appropriate. Like Carly, I’ll be interning at Fox News until August, so I have just enough time to figure out the subway system before I go back to the land of open roads and cowboy boots. Through this blog, I’ll keep you updated on my experiences as an intern.

I, too, have already had some pretty amazing experiences here at Fox News. I was originally assigned to help out with America Live, but I also assist the booking unit for America’s Newsroom and, obviously, Happening Now. Since I help with more than one show, I’ve been able to greet a variety of important guests including former governors George Pataki and Mike Huckabee.

I feel so lucky to have the opportunity to spend a summer in NYC. I look forward to learning more about what goes into producing a show on what I consider to be the BEST network in the news industry. I hope I can leave you enlightened by the summer’s end, but if not, at least it will provide some good reading material for those of you who have trouble sleeping!

    Before you go…
If there are ever questions or comments about our blog, please do not hesitate to leave them below. We want to hear from you about what you would like to see on the blog and see your feedback on the programming! Have a great weekend and we look forward to your comments!

They should have all FNC Obama apologist on at one time. W/a Hamas flag & garb in the back ground. Because Bill O'Reilly, Chris Wallace, Kirsten Powers & Juan Williams are the biggest voices for Obama. I never knew pro-jihadist/muslim & anti-semetic people would all agree w/Obama on every issue. Everyone has a price & I'm not surprised that Roger A. continues to pay these people. I now know ethics doesn't exist at FNC. Because if FNC had, they are like Obama, what laws? Money = ethics @ FNC? ?

This appears to be a typical government total SNAFU! Let me see if I have this correct: - apparently we did not burn any of the surface oil - which we should have - and now we are going to burn oil brought to the surface in a controlled way - through the riser pipe. WHY? Only reason I can think of - nothing to put it in when it gets to the surface... WHAT? No SHIPS, barges, tanks, balloons????? Once again, no reporters are asking or saying! SNAFU is far TOO MILD for this bunch!
