Good morning! At this very moment, new details are emerging regarding the matter of 7 year-old Somer Thompson who was reported missing earlier this week. Authorities have tentatively identified the Somer's body  as found in a Georgia landfill close to the Florida border. A point of great contention that we are further researching is that as many as 161 registered sex offenders currently reside within a five mile radius of her hometown. What do you think about this? Should the residence of sex offenders in YOUR neighborhood be made a public fact? How, why and where these individuals decide to reside after having served a jail sentence for these serious crimes has long been a foremost issue within a larger controversial debate, and Florida Governor Charlie Crist will be calling in & discussing this disturbing case in detail with us.

In other shocking news today we will be bringing you the story regarding a father of Iraqi heritage who deliberately ran over his 20 year-old daughter, Noor Faleh Almaleki & her roommate Amal Edan Khalaf, with a truck as a punishment of sorts for her increasingly “Westernized” behavior.

To catch a thief, get a knife to the face or be fired? This is a predicament that former Wal-Mart employee Josh Rutner was not expecting to find himself in as he has said he was merely doing his job as an "asset protection officer" at the chain retail store earlier this month when he chased a knife-wielding theft suspect across the store parking lot in Ocala, Arkansas. Wal-Mart policy states that chasing after a thief in any circumstance is clear violation of company protocol; we’ll be looking into this story further, along with many more to be brought to you soon on Happening Now – you won’t want to miss it!

I worked in the Asset Protection field for many years at both TARGET and KMART. I realize that they have certain rules all designed to protect the Company from law suits. I feel that none of the big retailers care if anyone shoplifts merchandise. All tax deductible... The purpose of so called Asset Protection personal is to appease the Internal Revenue Service. The IRS demands that the retailers put some foot forward to curb retail theft prior to the write offs of the lost merchandise...

As to the Florida girl being evicted, it's against Federal law. you can not discriminate in housing based on age. Parks that advertise 55 and under are violator's. The grandparents can get immediate relief by filing a discrimination for an order against the homeowner's association. They can sue for damages and force the violators to remove any age restrictions in the association's rules. Go getem.

My heart goes out to the Thomson family. Dear lord when are we going to get serious about protecting children in this country? These people cannot be rehabilitated! Stop putting the lives of other children at risk!

I'm enjoying the show, good reporting! In regards to Sen Leahey's interview with Harris, I think a review of the anti-trust law concerning insurance companies is warranted. What I'd like to know from the senators reviewing this law is the impact on the state economies if and when anti-trust protection for insurance companies would be lifted. I live in a state which could not withstand a blow like that during this economic 'timeout.' With one thought I can see Sen Leahey is messing...

You would think an American troop carrier would not compare itself to a Japanese car. Since this troop carrier is like an SUV in comparison, why not refer to it as the Navy's Ford Escape Hybrid or Escape Hybrid. The Escape hybrid gets the best gas mileage of any SUV in the WORLD
